And a Friday lunch to round out the week

It's a bit less exciting than we have had this week & last, but in my defense, we were out late last night and she is lucky she got lunch. ;o)

Faith has a sandwich on a mini-roll (ham, cheese & cream cheese), carrot sticks, vanilla yogurt in the HK container, a few koala cookies and a big strawberry.

A Muffin Medley for Wednesday

F&B and I made muffins yesterday, two batches which took well over an hour. Little helpers do not make for quick cooking in any way, shape or form.

Faith took a corndog muffin, carrot sticks with cucumber flowers, a blueberry muffin, animal crackers, and assorted fruits (strawberries, blueberries and grapes). I was informed after school that she would have liked *two* blueberry muffins.

Back to school Monday!

And another Monday morning is upon us. I kind of knew what I wanted Faith to have, so I smartly had it all ready to go so all I had to do was steam the main course in the morning.

She had a steamed pork bun, some cucumber flowers with carrots underneath, canteloupe & blueberry kebabs, a couple of strawberries to fill a gap and a mini chocolate cupcake (btw, after holidays is an *awesome* time to buy & freeze treats, the cupcakes were $1.50 a dozen because they had red/white/blue sprinkles).

Faith's Friday Lunch!

It's the end of the first week of school already!

For those of you not here last year, Faith goes to a university model school, so she only goes 3 days a week. Hence, my "first day", "second day", etc doesn't always add up. :o)

She took a mini bagel with strawberry cream cheese, melons & grapes, carrot sticks, cheese cubes and a few koala cookies.

And Day 2 of First Grade

The second day of school also went quite well for Miss Faith. She wanted a kebab-type lunch and I had leftover chicken. Chicken breast cubed works much better than luncheon meat for kebabs, in case you were curious.

So, she had chicken & cheese kebabs, some Ritz crackers, grapes, carrots, Koala cookies, and a melon flavored star pudding. All was gone before she got to my room after school.

First Day of First Grade Lunch

And we're back! Today was the first day of school and Miss Faith's first day of first grade. It went exceptionally well and she is quite excited about learning all about ancient Egypt (their focus is on the early parts of the Old Testament this year, so tons of Egypt stuff)! Most of her friends are back and her class has three new girls in it, so it looks likes the makings of a fun year.

For lunch today, she took some ham and cheese faux sushis, a mango star pudding, grapes with canteloupe flowers, a boiled eggs and some cucumber flowers. She finished it all except for the pudding, which she ate in my classroom after school while waiting for me to pack up.
