Ben's Lunch Bento from Tuesday!

Continuing in the "finshing food before vacation" series, I present a Ben lunch that allowed me to finish the sandwich rounds and a container of blackberries in one fell swoop!

I've actually done so well at finishing bread that I'm going to have to take a few slices out of my freezer to make lunches for on the road tomorrow (which will, of course, be contained in "on the road" bentos)! ;o)

Ben has cream cheese & strawberry jam sandwiches on Nature's Own Whole Wheat Sandwich Rounds, sharp cheddar cheese hearts, the last of the blackberries, some baby carrot & celery sticks and my homemade apple cinammon granola bars. Perfect for the boy!

  1. Looks yummy!! How do you cut the shapes out of the cheese? Just slice thin and use a cookie cutter??

  4. Yep, sliced block cheese plus a cookie cutter (metal ones work better imho).

Cindy, the granola bar recipe is this one:

but without the chocolate chips & cherries but with a cup or so of dried apples and a few tsp of cinnamon.

  6. We are big cream cheese fans. Both kids actually need extra good fats in their diets (Faith is 44lbs at almost 8 years old), so it works well and is yummy!

  7. The bread rounds are perfect for kids, and a road trip. Sounds like my daughter, she never weighed much either (but she eats healthy).

Thanks for the welcome Shannon, and stopping by my blog!
