Bagel Melt Bento for Faith

I had a few bagels leftover so thought we'd make bagel melts for their bentos. Nothing fancy mind you, just toasting the bagels, then immediately making the sandwiches and letting them sit in the toaster oven till the cheese melts.

I did forget that someone lost one of her front teeth and the other one is wiggly. Faith informed me that bagels are a little hard to bit with only one wiggly tooth. ;o)

Bagel Melt Paperchase Alien Bento Box

She had a turkey/cheese bagel melt (half of one actually, regular bagels are too big for the kids). She also had a few veggie straws from Sprouts (great alternative to chips), carrot sticks and cucumber flowers with hummus, blueberries, blackberries & strawberries. I am really liking hummus as a dip lately since it's less runny/messy and I don't need a tight sealed container to use it in lunches, just a scoop in a mini silicone cup and we are good to go!

  1. Me too; I love hummus in bento. I always forget about the wiggly tooth impediment too, but my boy won't remind me because he doesn't want to miss out! He's even struggled with corn on the cob, kernel by kernel, until I notice and offer to cut them off. Of course he declines. Silly kids!

  5. I love hummus too. I love that it is healthy and can be unrefrigerated for a bit better then other dips like ranch. My boys only like it a little... although if I scooped it out all pretty like you did, it would surely help!

  6. I think those same (or similar) veggie straws are also available @ Whole Foods. A friend just got us a bag to try out, they look very similar!
