Red Lobster-ish Biscuits

The husband is off training for a little bit, so it's just F&B and me for all meals.  What does that mean?  We're eating all the things Daddy doesn't really care for!  Homemade tomato soup and tortellini topped our lists of things to eat while he is gone.  Last night, we went with tortellini, sausage and red sauce, and I mentioned to the kids that I knew how to make cheddar biscuits, a la Red Lobster.

I've had this recipe for years, since I can remember making them in the apartment we lived at while I was still in grad school (we lived there from May 1998 to February 2001).  I'm sure it's all over the Internet by now, but it was originally given to me, on paper, by a friend!

Now, why did I write it out on a post-it note?  Because my friend Karen at I Wish I Had an Adipose has decided to start up a new link up "Stick to It Sundays", with the catch that the recipe needs to fit on a 3x3 Post It Note.  But to make it easier to save, the typed out version:

Red Lobster-ish Biscuits
1 cup baking mix, like Bisquick or similar
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Combine, form into balls, dough WILL be sticky
Bake at 400 for 10-13 minutes or until edges are brown
-----
Melt 2 Tbsp butter, stir in 1 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Baste biscuits with butter mixture, bake 1-2 more minutes more
