Fuel the Amazing with #YoplaitGoBig

It's sometimes hard to believe that this blog is almost 10 years old.  At the time, I was trying to create lunches for my 4 year old, because I was worried that she wouldn't have enough time to eat in kindergarten that fall.  Now she's 14 and starting high school, and can make a gorgeous lunch on her own (even though I still like doing it for her).

She runs track and cross country, does yoga and skis.  She is amazing with little kids, babysits our neighbor girls, and volunteers at our church in the preschool and nursery classes.  She loves her doggy and reading and crafting, and has turned into such an amazing person over the years.

I'm excited to be partnering with Yoplait Go Big to share her story. Go Big is Yoplait's new product, designed with teens in mind.  The large grip and rip pouch comes in 4 great flavors (strawberry is her favorite) and can be found in the yogurt section at your grocery store.  We got ours at Walmart the other day and both kids are loving the size of the pouches.  They're perfect for sports nights and snacks on the go, a great snack for hungry tweens and teens!

Yoplait Go Big challenged bloggers and other parents to write a letter to their teen, sharing their thoughts and hopes.   Here is part of mine:

To My Girl ...

It seems like yesterday that we were getting you ready for kindergarten, and now you're in ninth grade.  In some ways, it went by in the blink of an eye and you went from being a preschooler to a high schooler, but you've turned into an amazing young woman.

I'm so proud of you.  As high school has started, you've taken on new challenges in school--higher level math and English classes, starting a new language, learning to run cross-country, and starting to work on your Gold Award.  I can't wait to see where this year takes you and what you'll choose to do next.

I love seeing how you interact with others.  Watching how good you are with L&M and knowing that Miss Sarah trust you with her girls makes me realize how grown up you are.  Yesterday, when Pastor Derek told me how much he appreciates your help in the nursery and with the other children's events, it was wonderful to hear.  I know the little ones love when you help out too and the other adult teachers depend on you being there ...

There is more, but some of it is much more personal and hers to share, not mine.

I bet your teen is amazing too. Why not let Go Big spotlight that amazingness?

For a chance to win the spotlight for your teen, go to the Go Big Amazing Teens contest page and share how your teen inspires you. Go Big will select three teens with amazing stories and give them a platform to show the world! For more information, full contest rules can be found on the Go Big Facebook Page.
