Very interesting. My 5 yr old likes hard-boiled eggs, but for him the main appeal of boiled eggs is that he gets to remove the shells and he really enjoys doing that! :-) So if I remove the shells myself and shape them he might actually be disapponted. I might try it one day anyway (if I ever come across egg-shaping devices...) and see if he likes them.Lucynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6045078928314041805.post-85074339052401003152010-05-26T11:54:11.563-05:002010-05-26T11:54:11.563-05:00Those eggs are actually ice cream sandwich makers ...Those eggs are actually ice cream sandwich makers from Williams Sonoma. They are a mold with a press down top. I just bungee them together with rubber bands. The regular egg molds from Japan are hinged with a clip, so less creativity necessary to hold them closed.

To make, boil the eggs as normal, let sit in hot water for 15 minutes. Instead of submerging them in cold water, peel them while still hot (I do this under running water so my hands don't burn on the shells), and pop them into the mold. Refrigerate for a bit, then pop them out and you should have shaped eggs!Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06442430456657585722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6045078928314041805.post-63834137363691371952010-05-26T09:04:18.255-05:002010-05-26T09:04:18.255-05:00I just bought the egg shaping device and it came w...I just bought the egg shaping device and it came with no instructions. :( You may have given a tutorial before I became a devoted follower. Tuesday nights are our crazy taekwondo nights as well, it was just one child, and she packed herself a sack lunch, but in a couple weeks it will be two kids there tuesdays and thursdays from 4:40-7:20, one taking one class and one taking two, and none overlapping. So we will all be eating bentos on the go.Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01101484615431152336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6045078928314041805.post-59200661901047030422010-05-25T17:14:43.229-05:002010-05-25T17:14:43.229-05:00Cute!
