Happy Little Salad Bento!

I couldn't think of a better title. This salad look so bright & cheerful, and it's smiling at us! Why can't all food be so happy?

It's actually a bento for Faith, minus the dressing (which was in a separate little cup with a tight lid).

She has a layered chef salad--lettuce, thinly sliced cucumber, carrots, grilled chicken, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, & hard-boiled egg slices. The eyes are just a blueberry cut in half for color. Even better, the mouth is our very first tomato from our garden! I would have liked it a bit more red, but the little birdies had pecked a small hole in one side, so we harvested it early and cut off the nibbled part. She has a little side of ranch in a small tupperware container, to keep the salad fresh.

On the right, she has the last piece of blueberry bread and freshly cut honeydew & strawberries from yesterday's fruit shopping extravaganza! It's all packed in one of her EasyLunchboxes.

Per Faith, this has been one of her favorite lunches lately. She loves chef salads, I really should make them more frequently.
