Ben's 5th Birthday Bento!

That's right, my baby is 5 today! We spent our morning at church where he had his last day in the nursery level. Starting next Sunday, he moves up to the elementary level on Sundays.

We came home and opened his gifts--Legos, the new Imaginext Robot Police set, a Texas jersey, some new books, the Joker house he desperately wanted, dragons, you name it, it's probably in my living room right now. ;o) Lest you think I bought all that, it included gifts from my parents, my parents' best friends, and my aunt/uncle, plus Faith.

I also promised him a special birthday lunch!

Ben has a roast beef & cheddar sandwich on Nature's Own 100% Whole Grain Sandwich Rounds (new find, yum!). It's topped with five white cheddar candles and five orange cheddar flames. He has lots of grapes, frozen blackberries & blueberries, and a chocolate chip muffin that I spruced up with some icing and sprinkles (and a Happy Birthday pick). We have a cake for tonight for the 4 of us, then his pool party with his friends is next weekend.

Zak Nibble Tray giveaway ends tonight, there's still time to enter!

  2. Love it. Do you have a cutter for the candles? If so, where did you find it? My daughter turns 7 in a couple weeks. I want to do something special for her lunch on her birthday.

  3. No cutter. I used a very small circle to make the flames, just cut one circle, overlap it like a Venn diagram with the cutter and you'll get a flame (does my inner geek show from that explanation? ;o) ). The candles were just cut with a knife.
