Flowers for Faith Bento

There was an adorable bento article on Parents this week from AnnatheRed.. It also included directions for the 3D bows/flowers you can make out of ham. I've had my eye on those for awhile now but hadn't figured out how. Quite happy to find out that they were much simpler than anticipated.

Faith has a taco muffin, topped with a cheese flower, a ham flower, a roast beef flower (I think the roast beef looked better in the box), some grapes, strawberry and carrots.

Just a quick snack, I was mostly interested in making a meat flower. ;o)

  1. Hi! I found your blog through Kids Cook Monday. My family will begin participating this week, we can't wait!

I wanted to let you know that I used your cornbread muffin mix with a couple of small changes and added breakfast food to it. It was great, thanks for the recipe. I posted the results here:

  4. I saw AnnaTheRed's article on Parenting.com too! So many great ideas in it! I was getting kind of mad at the silly comments on her piece though, as if making a nice presentation and nutritious lunch is a ridiculous idea. Kids deserve pretty food too, not just sodium packed Lunchables. Grrr!

  5. I totally agree. Just because I'm willing to spend a bit of time on my kids' lunches (and honestly, once you're used to it, it takes at most 5 minutes longer than normal, it's not like I can just NOT feed) doesn't mean that I'm wasting my time or that I'm setting my kids up for picky eating only if it's cute. Dinner is never cute. Neither is breakfast. And there are lots of not-cute lunches that don't quite make this blog! ;o)
