Feeding My Husband - A Leftover Lunch

Shaun had a bunch of work stuff going on the other day, and I knew he'd be getting home just in time to turn around and take F&B to martial arts class (he also helps teach theirs). So, I decided to be nice and send him a lunch.

I opted for the Laptop Lunch for a different picture. ;o) With removable containers, it works well to send him a mix of food that needs to be reheated and needs to be kept cold. He has fried chicken (leftover from the other night), a garden salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, carrot, yellow peppers), pineapple/cantaloupe/blueberries/honeydew, and a mixed berry muffin from my freezer stash.

  1. I love this idea, but my husband MUST have some things reheated, and it has taken me 3 years to get him to stop putting plastic in the microwave. Wish I could find an easy glass bento with dividers, but no luck yet..

  2. Cindy, could you also pack a paper plate or napkin that he could transfer the food to just long enough to heat up?

  3. I was thinking the same thing. Shaun warms up muffins/most baked goods, so if I use a one piece box, I think he just puts a piece of paper towel underneath (or if the muffin has a paper wrapper, it can just go straight in).

  5. @Carrie, he'll love hearing that. He keeps telling me it's a whole other niche. I think he's angling for me making it for him. ;o)

  7. Where do you get the little individual holders. They are so cute.

  8. @AnotherSuburbanMom, it's a Laptop Lunchbox, so it came with the removable containers. I use it a lot when there is food to be reheated so I can still just use one overall box.
