Hormel June - Baking with Ben

In most cases, cooking with kids blog posts have featured Miss Faith in the past, due to age and ability.  However, Ben has been dying to help out with blogging and I promised him that we would do some "Baking with Ben" posts too.

This week, we finally had time to work on a baking post and Ben got to choose the recipe.  He finally picked the Apple Cheddar Breakfast Biscuits from Hormel and we made a quick substitution from the Hormel Canadian Bacon to some Hormel 50% Less Fat Real Bacon Pieces. (No specific reason, I just didn't have to go to the store to buy the Canadian bacon that way.)

Needless to say, this was the perfect recipe for baking with a 7 year old!  Ben was able to do every single bit of this on his own.  I only helped him remove the tray from the oven because I was worried about him getting burned.   He flattened the biscuits, mixed and spread the applesauce combination, sprinkled the cheese and bacon, and put them in the oven.

Ben was also thrilled that the biscuits were good!  The three of us had them for lunch and the whole tray went in one sitting.
