It's no surprise that we love cute lunch boxes around here, along with fun and creative lunch ideas to fill them.  Bento lunches are awesome for all ages, from little ones to adults.  Who doesn't love a lunch packed with love?

But, as beautiful as bento lunches can be, they don't need to be exceedingly complicated.  Cookie cutters, a few cute food picks, and yummy options like Horizon® Squeeze Pouches and Horizon® Kids Aseptic Milk Boxes can help you make a cute lunch in minutes!

For this lunch, we headed off to Walmart to find the Horizon® Squeeze Pouches and Horizon® Kids Aseptic Milk Boxes with the new Peanuts movie packaging because we are really excited about the Peanuts movie.  (Dante-dog has some very Snoopy-like qualities, especially when he is napping on the top of my chair.)  At our Walmart, the milk is in the breakfast foods aisle while the squeeze pouches are in with the applesauce and canned fruits aisle.  Other bloggers have found them all in the same area, so make sure to check both!

Because we wanted to show a lunch you can make at home too, we opted for a simple set-up with sandwiches, carrots, pretzel nuggets, plus a Horizon® Kids Chocolate Milk box and a Horizon® Squeeze Pouch in strawberry flavor.

We chose a simple three compartment bento box from our stash, then made a sandwich and cut it into puzzle pieces with a LunchPunch cutter.  Any cookie cutter will work, but sandwich cutters are awesome since they waste very little food (and Dante-dog gets our scraps) and they make food so much cuter with very little effort!  We put our sandwich in the larger compartment, then filled the two smaller compartments with pretzel nuggets and carrot sticks.

After that, we added in a Horizon® Kids Chocolate Milk (Chocolate: Flavored with organic cocoa) and a Horizon® Squeeze Pouch (real fruit and organic milk and 5 grams of protein), then tucked it all into our awesome new Peanuts movie lunchbox. Lunch is served!

What are your favorite things to pack for your kids for lunch? And are you as excited as we are about the new Peanuts movie?  Check out the trailer here.

  1. My son is too little for lunchboxes yet - but he still loves all of the food you listed :)
