Plated Train Lunch

Weekends are always a bit more relaxing around here, and a great opportunity to play with our food!  Today, I had an idea for a train lunch, so Ben and I created one on a plate to see if we could make it work.

For lunch, we made ham and cheese sandwiches on white-wheat, then cut them with the train cutter from the Lunch Punch transportation set.  I added a stripe of fruit leather to decorate the engine and M&Ms for the wheels, plus a cute pick for the driver  For cargo, I sliced grapes to pile in the follow-on car and the tracks are made from butter pretzel grids.  I peeled a cutie orange and stacked a few circles of three segments to make the sun.

With a few adjustments (and the right box), I see a train bento in our future.
