We're excited to be partnering with Parragon Books as Book Buddies to show off some of their new titles for kids and a fun lunch to match. This month, our theme is under the sea, which happens to be a perennial favorite around here.
In this lunch, we decided to go with simple, since we just got back from vacation. We made ham and cheese sandwiches on white-wheat bread, cut with our Lunch Punch fish shaped cutter, and decorated with sugar eyes and a fin out of the extra cheese.
I added a sliced kiwi with a cute dolphin pick in one container and some Goldfish in another, both lined with silicone muffin cups to keep things neat. Add-ons included yogurt and granola bars, and lunch is packed in an EasyLunchbox!
Check out some of our other favorite under the sea food ideas too:
Books to Read with Your Under the Sea Lunch:
Discovery Kids: Shark Factivity Kit -
We love these kits and have a few of the other varieties (dinosaurs and human body). Each kit comes with a book of facts about the topic and some type of hands-on component to go with it. This particular one comes with a book entitled The Underwater World of Sharks and six model shark teeth to help your child become an expert.
The included book was full of shark facts, perfect for my boy who loves all under the sea critters. Did you know that shark babies are called pups? They are all formed from eggs but some grow inside the mother shark and other eggs are laid in sand beds and hatch there. Ben's been regaling us all with shark facts.
4000 Stickers: Under the Sea -
This series is so much fun for younger kids and we think they would be great for travel too. Each activity books comes with 4000 stickers as promised, along with activity pages to place them on to create scenes, coloring pages, puzzles, and more.
Kids can add friends to the mermaid scene, cover the sea floor with wiggly critters, match shadows to their owners, pair up sharks, do dot-to-dots, and of course, illustrate it all with stickers.
Finding Dory: Unforgettable Activities -
This is another great activity book for little ones that we enjoyed taking a peek at. Full of your favorite Finding Dory characters, including my favorite sea otters, there's lots of cute pages to complete.
Once again, there are coloring pages and mazes, but there's also simple Sudoku and letter puzzles, which both of mine have always loved, even as preschoolers. There's also an adorable fish shaped necklace, made with chalkboard material so your little one can design and redesign their own pendant.
Disclosure: I received the books above as part of my relationship with Parragon Book Buddies. All opinions expressed are my own.
