Game Day Hot SPAM® & Cheese Dip

Are you ready for some football this weekend?

Even though our favorite teams are out now, we'll still be watching the big game and enjoying yummy food during it. We're also excited to share one of our new recipe creations that is perfect for gametime snacking.

SPAM® challenged us to come up with a great recipe utilizing SPAM® brand products, and we were up to the challenge.  For game snacking, we love bite sized appetizers and hot dips, all of which work great with SPAM®, and I had a great idea in mind--Hot Spam & Cheese Dip.

We mixed sharp cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and some other yumminess with diced up SPAM®, then baked it until it was warm and gooey.  We dipped our crackers into it and perfection!  It was everything I had in my head.

How to Make Hot SPAM® & Cheese Dip

1 package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 can of SPAM® diced into little cubes

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Open your SPAM®, cut it in half, and dice into small cubes (mine were salad sized, maybe 1/4 inch square).

Beat your softened cream cheese with an electric mixer for a few seconds to spread.
Mix in sour cream and mayo, beat a few more seconds.
Add cheddar cheese and beat until mixture is fluffy.

Stir in your SPAM® pieces by hand (not with the mixer) and blend together.
Spray a baking dish with bake spray and spread your dip inside.  Sprinkle with a little extra cheddar.
Bake covered for 15 minutes, then serve hot with crackers to dip.

What are some of your favorite game day recipes?  We're also thinking of trying two of the other suggestions SPAM®  sent us--Sauce Meatball Sliders and Bacon Wrapped SPAM® Bites!
