Sugar Skull Sandwiches & Disney Pixar's Coco

We are pretty much excited about all new Disney movies, but right now?  Coco is totally catching our eyes!  The dog is even named Dante, how much more perfect could that be?

The fact that we have to wait till November to see it is making me quite sad, but for now, a lunch will have to do.

Now in Disney•Pixar’s “Coco,” aspiring musician Miguel teams up with charming trickster Hector on an extraordinary journey through the Land of the Dead.

And I just happen to have bought the most awesome sugar skull cookie cutter back in Washington that is the perfect base for a Land of the Dead themed sandwich.

In this lunch, I cut skull shapes from honey wheat bread, then stamped the top piece with the actual sugar skull design.  Because of the decorative aspect, I made the sandwich after I had the bread finished, so there's ham and cheese and a little bit of mayo on the inside.

To the right, I added some fresh cantaloupe and one of the cookie brownies we made.  Not pictured, I included a yogurt tube and a cheese stick for extra protein.  Lunch is packed in one of our EasyLunchboxes and I realized that we are now desperately in need of sugar skull food picks because the lunch looks lonely with just one skull.

Have you seen any of the previews for Coco yet?  It looks awesome, but the "Dante's Lunch" short is my favorite.

Disclaimer: Disney provided me with the clips and info on Coco. My obsession with all things Disney is my own.
