Weekend Pancake Fun with Krusteaz

After a long week, we needed a break.  And nothing says "break" like sleeping late on a Saturday morning, then making pancakes.

We're excited to be partnering with Krusteaz for National Breakfast Month to share their new Krusteaz Protein Pancake mix, along with our favorite cute pancake toppers. Why can't weekend breakfasts be extra fun?

We started out our pancakes by making a batch of Krusteaz Protein Pancakes.  The kids were very happy to report that the pancakes have the same great taste as our usual Krusteaz pancakes, so we got the extra protein bonus and the flavor we wanted.

Check out our pancake toppers!  Besides the usual syrup, we love having more fun with our pancakes, so I made bears and fish on Saturday morning.  Want to learn how to make them?

For the bear, I spread a thin layer of chocolate hazelnut spread on top of one pancake.  I sliced three pieces of banana to make the ears and snout, then used three blueberries for the eyes and nose.  Use a teeny dab of the hazelnut spread to make the nose stick to the snout.

For the fish, I used a sweetened cream cheese spread on top of the pancake.  I sliced a large and small strawberry in half, then cut a small triangle out of each for the mouth and the tail fin.  A tiny dab of cream cheese on a sugar eye completes the design.  (Get more specific instructions on the fish here.)

With 13g of added protein, Krusteaz Protein Pancakes are the perfect way to keep your family full and energized all day long. The new protein pancake is also free of partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors and preservatives, in keeping with Krusteaz’s commitment to simplified and wholesome ingredients.

Would you like to try them too?  Right now, you can enter to win a great Krusteaz prize pack, including 3 boxes of the new protein pancake mix and other Krusteaz swag.
