Rain messed up our grilling plans yesterday, so my original adult lunchables plan is on hold till we get something cooked for it. Thankfully, I had plenty of backup ideas in the fridge.
Sliced Smoked Sausage (2 oz., 160 cal.)
Gouda and havarti chunks (2 oz., 200 cal.)
Cherry tomatoes with ranch dressing (8 tomatoes, 25 calories)
Green grapes (1/2 cup, 30 cal.)
------------------
Total calories for the box are approximately 341 cal.
For costs, I buy the sausage only when it's 2 for $5, so per serving, that's $0.35. The tomatoes were about $0.075 each, so $0.60 for the 8 of them. Grapes were on sale this week for $1.77/lb, or approximately $0.11/ounce. The half cup weight about 3 oz, so $0.33 for grapes. Cheese is more like $1 because we do like our fancy deli cheese choices. Total box cost is around $2.28, but life is too short to not eat fancy cheese.
This box is an EasyLunchboxes Snack Box again. They are available on Amazon for $12 for a 4-pack. I actually ordered a second set of these because my husband is home and is going to need snack boxes too. I've had the giraffe fork for a number of years now, but this pack on Amazon has the giraffes, plus elephants, lions, bunnies, and some other cute animals in quantity for just $5.
