This Week's Meal Prep Guy Snacks - Week of 6/24

A third week of snacks for my husband.  He definitely preferred the two fruit, two protein mash up, so I kept with that theme this week.

I used some of the meat we had in the freezer, boiled an 18 count box of eggs on Sunday (for lunches and egg salad), and chose the fruit based on what was on sale at the grocery.  I did mix and match a little more between 2 meats and 3 fruits, so this is just two of the four boxes.

Today's adult lunchable features:

Deli roast beef slices (2oz., 70 cal.)

Green grapes (1/2 cup, 52 cal.)

Boiled egg (1 egg, 78 cal.)

Cutie orange (1 orange, 40 cal.)

------------------

Total calories for the box are approximately 240 calories.

For costs, the roast beef was on sale for $2, so about $0.66 for that. The half cup grapes weigh about 3 oz, so $0.24 for grapes, and $0.15 for the egg. The oranges are around $0.27 each.  Total cost for this lunch is $1.32.

The variation adult lunchable features:

Smoked seasoned chicken breast, seasoned with Oogie's Chicken & Waffles Seasoning (3 oz., 98 cal. )

Blackberries (1/2 cup, 31 cal.)

Boiled egg (1 egg, 78 cal.)

Cutie orange (1 orange, 40 cal.)

------------------

Total calories for the box are approximately 247 calories.

For costs, the smoked chicken was bought on sale at $1.99/lb.  That makes it about 12.5 cents per ounce, or $0.38 for the 3 ounces I used here. Blackberries were about $0.50 for the serving, and $0.15 for the egg. The oranges are around $0.27 each.  Total cost for this lunch is $1.30.

Once again, for comparison, our grocery has:

$5 - chicken salad, grapes, cheese, flatbread, whole box weighed 5.52 oz
$4.59 - apples, boiled egg, cheeses, cranberries and almonds, whole box weighed 7.35 oz.
$4.59 - apples, cheese, turkey pepperoni bites, cranberries, whole box weighed 6.75 oz.

I spent approximately $5.24 to make all four of these boxes combined.

These boxes are EasyLunchboxes Snack Box once again. Grab them on Amazon for about $12 for a 4-pack.  I packed all four at once, two with each kind of meat, two with grapes, two with blackberries, then all four got an orange and egg.  Just mix and match so each was a little different, then stacked them in an order to alternate the meats every other day since he just grabs the top box.
