The last little sandwich lunchable was a complete hit, so I have reevaluated my position on sandwich lunchables. When the kids were small, cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches were one of my daughter's favorites. I haven't made them in awhile, but I had the garden veggie cream cheese in my fridge, so why not?
Cucumber & cream cheese triangle sandwiches (2 slices of bread, 80 cal.; cucumber slices, 10 cal.; garden veggie cream cheese, 40 cal.)
Muenster mini cheese cubes (1.5 oz, 150 calories)
Strawberries (1/2 cup, 25 cal.)
Green grapes (5 grapes, 16 cal.)
------------------
Box total calories are approximately 321 cal.
For total costs, two slices of bread would be $0.20 (30 slices at $2.99), cucumber, maybe $0.10 for the slices, and cream cheese, about $0.20 for a couple of spreads. The cheese was around $0.29 because I've gone with the larger Kroger brand blocks on sale. Strawberries are around $0.45 and let's add an extra $0.10 for the five grapes. Total cost for this box is about $1.34.
This lunch is packed in a Paperchase bento box that I've had for years. These 3 Sprouts Bento Boxes on Amazon have a fairly similar layout to them, but the Paperchase one has removable containers.
The elephant pick can be found with these animal fork picks on Amazon for about $5. It's worth getting a small pack for the cuteness.
