Time for my husband's meal prep snacks for the week. His don't rotate nearly as much as our girl lunches do--couple of proteins, couple of fruit, and he's good to go for a mid-morning snack.
Deli ham slices (2oz., 60 cal.)
Honeydew (1/2 cup, 32 cal.)
Boiled egg (1 egg, 78 cal.)
Green grapes (1/2 cup, 52 cal.)
Total calories for the box are approximately 222 calories.
Not pictured, I added a string cheese to each box, so add 70 cal. for that, bringing us up to 292 cal.
For costs, the ham was on sale, so it ended up being around $0.70 per serving. Honeydew was also on sale and about $0.25 per serving, and $0.15 for the egg. The grapes are around $0.24 per serving. Total cost for this lunch is $1.34. Add the string cheese at $0.33 (Kroger brand) and we're up to $1.67.
Total cost for four snacks was $5.36 without the cheese or $6.68 with the cheese.
Once again, for comparison, our grocery has:
$5 - chicken salad, grapes, cheese, flatbread, whole box weighed 5.52 oz
$4.59 - apples, boiled egg, cheeses, cranberries and almonds, whole box weighed 7.35 oz.
$4.59 - apples, cheese, turkey pepperoni bites, cranberries, whole box weighed 6.75 oz.
These boxes are EasyLunchboxes Snack Box once again. Grab them on Amazon for about $12 for a 4-pack.
