Pack Ahead Bento Week - Day 4

Today is Day 4 of Pack Ahead Bento Week and it's also our last day.  F&B are off school tomorrow for a teacher workday, so no lunch has been packed.  However, I've heard a lot of people mention that they let their kids have pizza Fridays or something similar at school, so the 4 days packed, 1 day other works quite well!

Because this was the 4th meal of the week, I knew I didn't want a sandwich, so went with the standard cracker stacker type meal.  Both kids had rolled up black pepper turkey, cubes of sharp cheddar cheese, Ritz crackers, carrots, a boiled egg, and cantaloupe, along with another Chobani yogurt tube for a snack.

Sunday evening prep included rolling & skewering the turkey, cubing the cheese, peeling and slicing the egg, and adding the carrots and the cantaloupe.  I often will boil 6-8 eggs so I have them ready before I need them and chop my fruit as I buy it, both of which save time later on.  Morning prep included adding crackers, adding yogurt, and filling water bottles.  Crackers really must be added before sending, otherwise they end up soggy!

  2. I've loved this series! I always think I should try it but am never sure how the lunches would be towards the end. I like your ideas to keep them fresh - ie no sandwich for day 4, adding certain items in on the correct mornings etc. thanks for this!
