Crockpot Lasagna Recipe - NO precooking involved!

Lasagna photo courtesy of WikiCommons (I couldn't find mine) I've seen several recipes going around Facebook and Pinterest for a crockpot lasagna, and promised my friends that I definitely had a better (and easier) one. I've shared it before on my column on MomTrends, but I think I need it here too. Most versions of crockpot lasagna involve precooking the ground beef. If I actually had any desire to precook anything, I wouldn't be using my crockpot, I'd just use the oven and a pan. My entire reason for using a crockpot is to throw the food into it and come back later to a cooked meal and one dirty dish. So without further ado, the no-cook crockpot lasagna recipe! Ingredients: 15 oz. (1 container) ricotta cheese 1/4 cup parmesan cheese 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 1 lb ground beef 2-3 Tbsp minced garlic 1 tsp oregano 1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz) Lasagna noodles Directions: In one bowl, combine ricotta, parmesan and 1 cup of mozzarella....

Yet More Feeling Better Girl Lunches

Still feeling much better, so we've got another lunch going on today! I definitely need to get back into the swing of girl lunches. Snack boxes for my husband is super easy, but that's because I make 4-5 identical ones. On the other hand, I do NOT want the same thing more than once! Today's adult lunchable features: Potato salad (1/3 cup, 160 cal.) Sharp cheddar cheese (1.5 oz., 150 cal.) Baby carrots (12 carrots, 48 cal.) Honeydew (1/2 cup, 32 cal.) ------------------ Total calories for the box are approximately 390 cal. For costs, the potato salad is around $0.70 because it is the preferred brand, but at least it's on sale! The cheese is about $0.34 because I'm using the store brand blocks of cheese versus the deli right now. Baby carrots are about $0.42 and the honeydew is around $0.25 for the serving. Total box cost would be about $1.71. This box is an EasyLunchboxes Snack Box once again, on Amazon for about $12 for a 4-pack.

One of Our Pre-Vacation Girl Lunches

I have a few more lunches from before our DC vacation to share, but they all seem a tad bit repetitive. Before the trip, I took out a whole bunch of containers and any food that was not going to make it till after the trip. That food became the lunches of the week so I didn't have to throw much out. Today's adult lunchable features: Potato salad (1/3 cup, 160 cal.) White smoked cheddar (1.5oz., 150 cal.) Baby carrots (12 carrots, 48 cal.)
