Ice Packs!

On request, the ice packs from Target! ;o)

They were in the $1Spot and come in either Ariel or Nemo, 2 gel packs per package. So of course, we had to get two. I can always use more ice packs.

Picnic Snack Bentos

OK, actually making bentos took longer than I thought. I spent most of my week in meetings (new job teaching in the fall!!!) so Shaun and my mother in law were on kid duty and therefore lunch duty.

Today, however, we went to Target and found really really cute snack containers in the Dollar Spot. They had girl ones with Ariel and boy ones with Nemo and they were only $1 and my kids are spoiled, etc, etc, etc. Oh, and they had two packs of gel ice packs to match too. See!

Anyhow, we went home and F&B played outside then decided they needed a snack. And in their world, snacks on a day with new containers mean snacks in bentos. So I obliged.

Faith's is on the left--cheese, pretzel goldfish & an egg shaped like a fish. Ben's is on the left--cheese, pretzel goldfish and an egg shaped like a car. Thanks to the lovely Michelle for the new egg molds, they were quite the hit!

A Great Link

Taste Spotting

OMG, beautiful food photography and some amazing recipes.

And in case you're curious, we're going to have to start summer-bentoing soon, I've become bored with takeout lunches.

A Half Bento for the Weekend

OK, it's a lunch pretending to be a bento. Mostly because I hate doing dishes and if I put the kids' food on a dishwasher safe plate, I don't actually have to do any other dishes. At least it's semi-planned out and interesting. If the plates had sides and a lid, it technically could be a bento. ;o)

Anyhow, the munchkins had a boiled egg (I was making eggs for my egg molds, so they each got a leftover regular shaped egg), cream cheese and jelly heart sandwiches, yogos, a few goldfish and some orange slices. Note that I absolutely *suck* at peeling oranges, that is normally a Shaun job.

A Hiatus (Sorry)

Faith had her last two days of school this week, but we were offered the option of doing a Chik Fil A lunch one day and a pizza lunch the other day.

For $4, I didn't have to make anything, so I went with it.

We'll have picnic lunches on Friday to share and maybe some stuff tomorrow. We have new egg molds we *have* to use!
