Last Monday of March!

We had Mexican food Monday for the last Monday of March. Really, it's a fancy way of saying I ran out of bread and some other items. ;o) Thankfully, the kiddos like Mexican food and quesadillas are always a hit.

They had matching lunches again--turkey and cheese quesadillas, some parmesan goldfish crackers for filler, purple and green grapes and a few panda cookies for a treat.

Wednesday for Ben

It was just Ben for Wednesday. Faith's school had hot lunch and she wanted that, so only the boy needed lunch. He's fairly easy to please and the only thing he requested was the rest of the pineapple. Easy enough!

The boy had a stuffed corn muffin (I think it's a corndog one), some cheese, pretzels, dried fruit covered in yogurt, the rest of the pineapple and some grapes. Easy enough!

Spring-Break-Is-Over Monday

And we're back!

Spring Break was lovely, but I'm tired and I'm beginning to think the fourth grade sounds like a vacation compared to entertaining my two all week. ;o) At least the fourth graders don't mess up my house or expect me to prepare them meals!

On the plus side, we just bought fresh fruit and we had a nice leftover pasta salad to form the base of the kiddos' lunches. We did matching lunches too, because it requires less brain cells on my part.

Both kids had the leftover pasta salad which I spruced up with some cheese cubes, diced pepperonis and a few carrot sticks, some fresh pineapples & grapes, a few koala cookies, and a side dish of vanilla yogurt with blueberries (not pictured, you all know what yogurt looks like I'm sure!). Two lunches, two kids, minimal thinking on my part, all is good in the world.

Spring Break Giveaway!

Since we are on Spring Break this week and thus not making bentos, I figured it was a good time for a giveaway!

Up for grabs is a *mini* Hello Kitty bento like Faith uses for snacks (see the post below with pineapples, strawberries and yogurt). It is 4.5 inches long, 3.25 inches wide, and 1 inch deep, with a fixed divider. Also included are a pack of Hello Kitty spoons (pink, yellow & blue) and a pack of Hello Kitty food cups (similar to muffin paper wrappers).

Like last time, leave me a comment between now & Sunday, and Faith & I will draw a name on Sunday afternoon after church. Package will be sent out sometime the following week. :o)

A Last Week Lunch & Spring Break for Us

I forgot to post these from last week!

Last Monday (the 9th) was Faith's class festival. We opted to let Ben skip preschool and come too, so we didn't need lunches on that day. Wednesday was the kids' last day of school before Spring Break and Faith's school had a hot lunch day, so only Ben needed lunch.

Then this week? We're on Spring Break!

Ben had a chicken & veggie stuffed muffin, carrot sticks, pineapples and a few panda cookies. I apparently need to work on my photography skills since the whole lunch looks the same flipping color!

Even though Faith had hot lunch, she wanted a snack bento, so she had strawberries & pineapple with vanilla yogurt to dip it in.

Leftover Wednesday for Ben

Only Ben needed lunch today, and I found a perfect way to use out some of the leftovers in our fridge. We had a roast beef in the crockpot on Monday night (yum, fyi) and I had a fair size piece leftover, but not enough for more than 1 adult.

Instead, it turned into a lovely sandwich filling for Mr. Ben, who came home with an empty box!

He had faux sushi with roast beef and white cheddar/roasted red pepper spread, some cheese cubes, carrot sticks, pineapple and honeydew, and a few koala cookies. Yummy and bright!

Another round of "Matching Monday"

F&B have been craving boiled eggs, so I figured Monday was a good time to have some in our lunches. We also finally hit the grocery store, so we have some nice fresh fruit that is not coming out of my freezer! Yay for pineapple & honeydew and yay for the produce section at Kroger. I adore SuperTarget, but I find the produce leaves a lot to be desired. It's more expensive and there is less of a selection.

So for lunch, both kids had a corndog muffin (I was going to make sandwiches but forgot bread of all things), a half a boiled egg, a blueberry muffin, honeydew, pineapple and grapes, and a few koala cookies for stability. Much better after a grocery run! :o)
