Faith's Monday Lunch

I have nothing exciting to say about this lunch. Ben was up most of the night and this was what I could throw together on Monday morning.

She has melons and grapes on the left, faux sushis with sausage & cheese, carrot sticks, pretzels and a Nestle Crunch bar on the right.

Shaun's Recent Lunches

Shaun's been taking lunches too, but I keep forgetting to take pictures. It's a lot of leftovers mostly. 2 days ago, it was leftover porkchops & roasted potatoes, yesterday was leftover bbq meatloaf with rice & a salad.

But today, I remembered a picture!

He has another salad (lettuce, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes and a sprinkle of cheese), steamed rice with a piggie full of soy sauce and the beef stir fry I made last night that reheats well.

Friday Field Day Lunch

Faith had Science Field Day today at school. If only I had known it was outside, I would have sent her something warm for lunch.

Instead, she had Halloween shaped sandwiches, goldfish pretzels, a yogurt jelly, a mini-Hershey's bar (she *loves* the mini chocolates for her treat), carrots and melons.

Now, if I had been organized, I should have done something cool for post 100, but I just realized that this is post 100 when I went to click on post on Blogger. So nothing interesting, just a Faith lunch.

She has a ham & cheese muffin, carrot sticks, goldfish pretzels and mandarin oranges. Basically, I tried to finish out a bunch of already opened items. ;o)

Shaun's Sunday Lunch

Since we are trying to eat healthier, I made Shaun lunch to take with him today. Somehow, I think we need to get his cholesterol down.

He has a tuna salad sandwich, a fresh salad with lettuce, cucumbers, carrots and fresh tomatoes from my mom's garden, fruit salad and a few mini candy bars as a treat. Much better than fast food in my opinion.

Another end of the week lunch for Faith

It's not terribly inspired, but it's food! ;o) I had planned on making her pasta salad but went to bed last night instead.

She has mixed fruit salad, a heart & flower shaped sandwich, some cheese, some carrots, a yogurt jelly & a Nestle Crunch bar for a treat.

Wednesday's What's for Lunch

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who had a mommy that was totally on the ball and came up with wonderful balanced lunches for her everyday. Faith, however, is not that child, nor am I that Mommy, so I present another "what's left in my house" style lunch:

She has a ham & cheese muffin (thankfully, I made a dozen last go round), a few carrots & a slice of cucumber, mandarin oranges (I'm out of any kind of *real* fruit), a strawberry yogurt jelly & a mini Hershey's bar.

She brought it all home. Apparently, I forgot today was pizza day at school.

The new Nana box lunch

My parents are here for the week and Nana bought the girl a new box! And, even better, it's pink & purple & girly & has Strawberry Shortcake on it. What more can a 5 year old ask for?

Now if you know Faith, is this not totally her?

In honor of Halloween being in October, we had Halloween shaped sandwiches (moon, bat, ghost, cat, pumpkin), a yogurt jelly, 2 little Halloween candy bars and canned pineapple (because I have absolutely no fruit left).

Forgotten Friday Lunch

I have an excuse, had company, a birthday party and more company! But this was Faith's Friday lunch.

She had a ham & cheese stuffed muffin, cucumber flowers & carrot sticks with ranch dip, mixed melons, a yogurt jelly, and for a treat, a mini Nestle Crunch bar & 2 Starbursts.

After the fair lunch

OK, it probably can't compete with State Fair corndogs and assorted fried goods yesterday, but alas, Faith has school today.

She has a ham & cheese stuffed muffin, carrots & a flower cucumber, melons & grapes, and a mini candy bar which was apparently a huge hit on Monday! ;o)

More "we have food" lunches

Another Monday. :o)

Faith has turkey & cheese faux sushi, carrot sticks, cucumber flowers, melons & grapes, and a Hershey's mini bar for a treat!

Another no-picture lunch

Forgot to take pictures of Shaun's lunch before I dropped it off to him.

It wasn't terribly exciting, just the 2 sided Lock&Lock box with salad on one side and Pad Thai with shrimp on the other. I stuck a granola bar on top, just in case. ;o)

Friday's We-Shopped! Lunch

Thursday, we grocery shopped, so now we have much more options for lunch!

Faith took a ham & cheese muffin, a yogurt jelly, fresh melons and panda cookies. She was quite happy to have the fresh fruit option again. ;o) Apparently, canned mandarin oranges don't cut it for her.

The stuffed muffins--Jiffy corn muffin mix (made per the directions with milk & an egg), 2/3 cup or so, maybe a bit more, of diced cooked ham, another 2/3-1 cup of shredded cheese (I used the shredded Velveeta since I had it opened already). Mix up the muffin mix, added in the ham and cheese and bake per the package directions.

Shaun's Thursday Lunch

Now that the hiatus is over, Shaun got the first bento in awhile. ;o)

He has 2 ham & cheese stuffed muffins, mixed melons, Faith's pasta salad and some mini-Halloween candy bars (peanut butter cup, Almond Joy, Hershey's & Milky Way). The kids had the same thing, minus the candy bars, but since we were home, they got plates.

Sorry for the hiatus

If you read my personal blog, you'll know the kids and I had a pretty bad car accident on Saturday. Our car flipped and landed upside down. Thankfully, the kids are perfectly fine, nothing more than a couple of little bumps/bruises. It is a testimony to keeping your kids restrained in a 5-point carseat for sure. Faith would not have been OK if she had been in a booster seat instead of her Marathon.

Anyhow, trying to catch back up, but I didn't take pictures this week & Wednesday was a special Chik Fil A day at Faith's school.

Oh, the pasta salad question. It's nothing fancy. ;o) Faith's "favorite" pasta salad is one of the Betty Crocker mixes--Suddenly Pasta Salad Ranch & Bacon. So I mix it up and use it out within a few days. :o)

Monday Lunch

OK, with the rest of what is on my mind, I forgot to take a picture, you'll have to just imagine it.

Aurora box (pink one with a snap front).
Blue muffin cup of pasta salad with cheese flowers
Green muffin cup of mandarin oranges
A yogurt jelly
A granola bar
Some Yogos

Hardly what I wanted to send, but we are in desperate need of a trip to the grocery. This was the best I could do with what I had at home.
