Monday's Out-of-the-sandwich-rut Lunch

We've had about all we could take of sandwich related lunches, so I changed it up a bit today. Thankfully, I had some leftover mac&cheese that made a good base for a pasta salad. Add some ranch and some diced turkey and we had an entree!

Anyhow, she had the aforementioned pasta salad, some carrots, some grapes, some vanilla yogurt (in the HK ocntainer) and some chocolate chip cookies. And it was different for a change.

Friday's Lunch (and the only one of the week)

Monday was MLK day and Faith was off, Wednesday was hot lunch day and Faith had one, so I lucked out and only had to make *one* lunch this week.

I brought out another rarely used box for a change. I'm not sure why we don't use it more, but we don't, Faith was impressed that her drink even fit inside the box:

It is cute and it has its very own carry handle, which is a selling point to the 5 year old set.

She took a juice box, some carrot sticks, grapes & canteloupe, ham & cheese sandwiches shaped like bears and flowers, and some Teddy Grahams in the little container so they don't get mushy. ;o)

A New Box for Friday

I actually bought this box awhile ago for Ben, when I was having trouble finding more boyish boxes. In the meantime, I've found better boy ones and this one has been in my cabinet. I decided it was too cute not to get used:

Don't you just love the little pig faces? Faith did and she decided that the black & white was "cool". Inside has two removable compartments, yay!

She took cantelope and honeydew (yes, I finally bought fruit), a little container of Yogos since she is addicted to them, a bluberry yogurt jelly and some bear and flower sandwiches made with ham & cheese.

Monday Lunch (late again)

Well, not late, but I couldn't remember where I put my camera, so I'm posting it now. ;o)

She picked turkey & cheese sandwich roll ups, carrot sticks, vanilla yogurt (in the HK container), Yogos and goldfish pretzels. In case you're curious, we are still low on fruit.

And we're back!!!

Our very first lunch of 2008. Well, technically, it's not our first lunch of 2008. I don't starve the children, but it's our first bento of 2008. Faith actually started back to school on Wednesday, but I was a smart mommy and preordered her the special Wednesday hot lunch, so I didn't have to send one. It's a once a week thing and the proceeds all go to the school anyhow, so why not? And did I mention it means I don't have to make a lunch???

So that brings us to Friday (today). We are sorely lacking in fresh fruit because I haven't made it to Kroger and the produce at Super Target leaves a lot to be desired. Instead, she has turkey & cheese sandwiches in the shape of dolls, pretzel goldfish, vanilla yogurt in the HK container (with a few random blueberries I had frozen), a pack of Yogos (OK, shoot me, it's not healthy but I really need to go to Kroger) and a mini Nestle Crunch bar. Not my best work, but not bad considering I haven't been home a week and the grown ups are sick.
