I'm Shannon, army wife, mom to 2 young adults, living and loving life here in Colorado!

BentoLunch started in 2007 when my oldest was starting school and we needed cute, fun food she could eat quickly during lunchtime.

Over the years, it's cycled back around into quick, fun, easy lunches and snacks for our adult selves.

Giveaway #2 - Easy Lunchbox Set

I'm really excited for giveaway #2! Kelly from Easy Lunchboxes offered to send us a set to try out and see what we thought. Since we're quite big on trying new bentos, we jumped at the chance. I love the idea of a larger bento, since sometimes, we just need more food for things and the fact that the compartments are separate so certain foods can be kept away from others (no one like soggy crackers!). We've tried a couple of meals so far in them-- the mouse wraps the other day and last night's taekwondo bentos . F&B were able to open them without a problem and the plastic lids & containers are much sturdier than disposable ones. Even better, they are dishwasher and microwave safe! That's actually one of my biggest complaints about traditional bentos, I prefer everything to go in the dishwasher. Thankfully, it’s usually good ones, either complimenting them when they are making the choices or asking how exactly we got them to that point. To our happiness, they’ve both loved food from the beginning. I made all sorts of baby foods for them, we’d go to Whole Foods, buy a variety of interesting looking veggies, cook till soft, then puree them to the right texture. I've been holding onto this lovely review/giveaway since June. Since the items are already at my house, I did not wish to run the giveaway when I knew I'd be traveling and thus have a hard time mailing it to the lucky winner! Pia at Mimi the Sardine sent a wonderful package for F&B to enjoy and us to share with a lucky blog reader. If you haven't heard of Mimi the Sardine , you must check them out! They make a wonderful line of organic kids (and a few adult) products for meals--table cloths, bibs, placemats, lunchbags, even aprons! Their materials are organically grown cotton, coated with an acrylic (non-PVC) finish to keep them soft and still easily cleanable.
